I just really wanted to attempt to capture in words what it feels like to see if anyone has had the same thing happen to them.
**Edit: Sorry if I come off as being grandiose or bragging about this. I'd really like to hear if anyone else here has experienced this feeling in their dreams before. I do think it's related to abstinence that this happens.
I also don't ejaculate at all when this happens. Honestly, I'd guess that this is what heroin or any other drug that causes extreme euphoria would feel like, only compacted into 8 seconds (again, kind of sounds like a description of an orgasm, but it just feels DIFFERENT). Just really interesting, weird brain stuff going on here that I want to get to the bottom of. It also just so happens that whenever this phenomenon occurs, I usually have the "superpowers" feeling and feel AMAZING the next couple of days. I'd say it's more intense than any orgasm I've had, but I do think it is due to the firing off of dopamine and brain chemicals/neurotransmitters giving me a super quick natural high in a way similar to an orgasm, but like I said earlier, it doesn't feel like there is anything sexual about this sensation, and why it is happening in this weird non-sexual form, I HAVE NO IDEA.Īlso, I have experienced this sensation on the same night I've had a wet dream before, and they are always TOTALLY different, although I do think the two have a correlation because they usually happen around the same night (but always separately). And right from that moment this gigantic wave of unadulterated emotion this INSANE, supernatural rush of awesomeness, good feelings, euphoria and pure ecstasy as I feel as if I am being transported straight toward the freakin' heavens occurs and it only lasts about 8 seconds I'd say (interestingly enough, the same amount of time as an orgasm). Last night I dreamt I was in a strange city with a magnificent looking temple-thing (nothing to do with religion, not that it matters) towering overhead, and suddenly I felt this familiarity, like this city WAS the meaning of life. The interesting thing is, right before I feel this sensation, it feels like in my dream I have an incredible revelation. There's a feeling of extreme, intense elevation, and a lot of times at this point, I'll be flying in my dream.
I'll be dreaming, usually pretty vividly whenever this occurs, and something will happen in my dream and suddenly I feel this HUGE and INCREDIBLE head rush it's almost like an orgasm in my brain, but there is nothing sexual about it (don't feel sexually aroused during this, but I feel godly and superhuman). Keep in mind this sensation usually happens a few days after I have orgasmed, after a long no O streak (definitely related). In Fisher and Brown’s studies, the brain scans of couples in the early stages of love showed high levels of dopamine, the chemical that activates the reward system by triggering an intense rush of pleasure. I've experienced before, probably about 10 times, a VERY strange and amazing phenomenon while sleeping. In the previous stage of euphoric love, unconscious factors like attraction and the activation of the reward system take over.
